Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Continuous Improvement & Quality Systems Engineer to support the Advanced Manufacturing Facilities in Huntsville, Alabama. This high impact role is responsible for monitoring quality performance metrics, leading continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives, and developing solutions that enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, systems thinking, and practical problem solving ability to drive measurable results across the manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate effectively within a team setting, contributing to a cooperative work environment through excellent communication, mutual support, and shared responsibility in achieving quality objectives. Strong initiative, work ethic, attention to detail, and integrity are a must.
  • Utilize advanced data mining tools to import, clean, and analyze data from multiple systems and report out to cross functional stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint to support the site's digital factory transformation.
  • Train end users on tools, dashboards, and data driven decision making.
  • Partner with BI, Operations, and Engineering to improve data collection, integration, and reporting.
  • Analyze production processes, workflow, and performance data to identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives from planning through execution, providing clear status updates to stakeholders and adjusting plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Track and report site cost savings performance.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and data driven problem solving methodologies to improve process capability and reduce waste.
  • Ability to obtain US security clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM field and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management standards.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 4+ years of statistical or quality coursework or relevant experience including SPC, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, statistics, and manufacturing concepts.
  • Proficiency with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Project Management certifications (CMP, PMP, etc.).
  • Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, such as automotive, medical device, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.
