The Opportunity:

Make your mark while you grow your career! Are you passionate about advancing continuous improvement (CI) initiatives in an excellent mining facility? We are currently seeking for a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to join our Albian Mine Development & Continuous Improvement team. In this role, you will collaborate with various mining teams including Operations, Maintenance, Tailings, and Engineering, to support the effective and efficient execution of continuous improvement strategies that enhance overall performance and reduce costs.
  • Job location: Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 4 x 3, 10-hour shifts
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead Lean Six Sigma (LSS) projects to achieve certification requirements while identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities
  • Track and report on CI projects and training progress across the mining business unit, including monthly project and KPI updates
  • Collaborate in cross-functional meetings to identify opportunities, contribute technical insights, and address risks with mitigation plans
  • Support the development and execution of the CI strategy, ensuring alignment with operational objectives under CI Lead guidance
  • Lead the development and rollout of annual Wildly Important Goals (WIGs), supporting teams through implementation
  • Develop and deliver CI training tools and facilitate root cause analysis sessions to resolve operational challenges

What You Bring to the Role:
  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, geology, or other related earth sciences field
  • Registered or eligible to register with APEGA
  • Lean Six Sigma certification from a recognized institute (or working toward it)
  • 8+ years of experience in technical, operational, or business fields in mining, oil & gas or oil sands sectors with demonstrated achievements in continuous improvement
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Minitab, SigmaXL, Modular Mining Dispatch 6, Vulcan, Deswik or other mine planning software is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated listening, organization, decision-making and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to influence others effectively without direct authority
