Continuity Of Operations Planner

The Opportunity

As an Operation Planner, you’ll bring your military planning expertise to work on projects supporting national defense and military capability development focused on Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning. Assist in the development, updating, and publishing of a family of COOP Plans, CONOPS, and policies. Conduct business process analysis to recommend plans and procedures to maintain mission-essential function support during a requirement for alternate work schedule during all levels of impact from natural disaster to acts of war. Apply in-depth understanding of emergency management procedures and policy, planning for temporary work locations or alternate facilities, maintaining redundancy and continuity in protecting Government-assets and developing procedures for safeguarding sensitive and classified Government information. Spectrum of planning includes but is not limited to plan and concept of operation (CONOPS) development, appropriate communication systems and personnel identification, resource utilization, and training and exercise execution. Understand and apply a variety of processes to include operational planning, the Joint Planning Process (JPP), and the Planning, Programing, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process to include assisting on collaborative COOP efforts with INDOPACIFIC Command.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in military planning on a staff of the headquarters for an O-6 Brigade Command level or higher
  • Experience in the Joint Planning Process (JPP) or Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP)
  • Experience in Mission Assurance planning
  • Knowledge of national security strategy and military doctrine
  • Ability to deliver verbal and written presentations to senior leaders
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in working within a Joint Staff or CCMD, or with USINDOPACOM
  • Knowledge of U.S. Army Protection Warfighting Function, Homeland Defense Planning, and Multi-Domain Operations
  • Knowledge of Critical Infrastructure Risk and Vulnerability Management Programs
  • Ability to follow through with orders production, program development, and stakeholder contribution requirements
  • Ability to develop and analyze strategic, operational, and campaign plans
  • Possession of excellent analytical skills at the strategic and operational level

Compensation

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
