  • Prepare and distribute RFQs to qualified suppliers
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives

  • Purchase services and supplies through various approved orders
  • Negotiate, process, and expedite goods/services according to operations' needs
  • Reconcile accounts payable weekly for accuracy
  • Enter and maintain purchase orders in the system
  • Expedite and track orders as needed
  • Travel up to 10% for supplier meetings

Job Description

Buyer
Buyer facilitates the timely purchase of supplies, services, and outside sub-contracting services for operations. Position is supportive to all areas of operations
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute RFQs to qualified suppliers
  • Initiate and lead cost-saving initiatives
  • Work with suppliers and analyze pricing in order to find cost effective solutions
  • Purchase all services and supplies, including Factory Stores, through approved requisition and/or Factory Stores order report utilizing spot buy purchase orders and/or consignment and blanket purchase orders.
  • All goods/services are negotiated, processed and expedited in conjunction with operations requirements.
  • Reconcile A/P weekly to insure accurate/receipts.
  • Enter all Purchase Orders into system and maintain files with backup information
  • Expedite and track orders as necessary
  • Up to 10% travel in order to meet with suppliers

Qualifications
  • A minimum 3-5 years of procurement / buyer experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Proven track record of accountability and achievement.
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing procedures and practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Must have strong computer skill (MS Excel, Power Point, Word)


US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
