Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCandidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview. We are seeking a Content Acquisition Lead to join our highly visible Locals Programming team, responsible for acquiring the networks and programming our customers love. In this role, you will be on the front lines of DISH and Sling's content strategy, responsible for negotiating and facilitating carriage agreements with local television broadcasters across the country.
As a Lead, you will blend financial acumen with relationship management to secure the best possible programming agreements for DISH, Sling, and its subscribers. You will own the negotiation lifecycle from end to end by analyzing viewership data, building financial models, reviewing complex contracts, and communicating strategic updates directly to executive leadership.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives):- Model financial scenarios and analyze market trends to support content licensing deals and strategy negotiations
- Collaborate with legal, operations, finance, and accounting teams to ensure local programming operations adhere strictly to retransmission consent agreements and FCC regulations
- Lead and support negotiations with broadcasters and programmers to secure favorable economic, contractual, and operational terms for TV carriage agreements
- Conduct ad-hoc data analyses on program viewership and financial metrics to drive executive decision-making and content partner discussions
- Apply AI tools and analytical applications to streamline content licensing workflows, forecast viewership trends, and summarize complex contract terms
- Evaluate and summarize key contractual concepts to mitigate legal and operational risk across cross-departmental initiatives
Skills, Experience and RequirementsCore Skills and Competencies (What you'll bring):- Advanced data management and financial modeling capabilities using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Critical experience evaluating contract language, summarizing complex legal concepts, and supporting deal negotiations in the broadcast or media industry
- AI literacy and application skills to enhance data interpretation, reporting speed, and analytical accuracy
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills suitable for brief, high-impact interactions with executive leadership and external partners
- Proven ability to independently prioritize, make decisions, and manage multiple simultaneous analytical projects across matrixed organizations
Additional Qualifications:- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Direct negotiation or deal-structuring experience within the pay television, broadcast, or digital media space
- In-depth working knowledge of the pay television industry ecosystem and regulatory framework
Minimum Requirements:- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum Experience: 2-5+ years of professional experience in broadcast/media, contract management, or data analysis
- Required Technical Skills: Must have experience with:
- Microsoft Office Suite (with advanced proficiency in Excel)
- Google Applications (with advanced proficiency in Google Sheets)
- Data management and financial analysis methodologies

Salary RangesCompensation: $72,350.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year
