Overview
Starr Management Consulting is the in-house strategy consultancy for Starr and its business entities across the globe. The team reports into the Chief of Staff of the Chairman of Global Insurance, and its mandate is to support the company’s strategic objectives that achieve measurable goals. This is accomplished by defining and solving complex challenges through the design and development of constructive solutions.
MC’s highly visible engagements are conducted on behalf of Starr’s senior leadership and span key strategic, operational, and transformational initiatives. Success is defined by the team’s ability to work alongside its business partners to develop solutions with shared buy-in by key decision-makers and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Work with senior leadership across the enterprise to address the most imperative business matters through collaborative thinking and strategic change.
- Oversee multiple consulting projects and ensure successful delivery.
- Directly contribute to project work such as framing hypotheses, conducting research, data collection and analysis, and identifying unique and relevant insights.
- Develop and maintain strong internal client relationships.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to team members while advancing team’s best practices and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in client-facing management consulting / corporate strategy; insurance experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills to solve complex problems by developing creative and structured solutions.
- Outstanding communication skills: Writing, producing, and presenting deliverables.
- Program / project management skills, working with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Demonstrable proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as experience with other applicable tools
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $140,000 - 170,000.
