About the roleAs a
Consulting Manager, Metadata Management, you will make an impact by leading enterprise metadata management, source-to-target data mapping, data lineage, and data governance initiatives across complex Banking and Financial Services environments. You will be a valued member of the Data & Analytics team and work collaboratively with Business, Risk, Finance, Compliance, Data Governance, and Technology teams to ensure critical data is properly defined, governed, traceable, and compliant with regulatory requirements, including BCBS 239.
In addition to hands-on delivery responsibilities, you will provide team leadership, stakeholder management, and support business development activities including proposals, RFP responses, and client-facing engagements.
In this role, you will:- Develop and maintain enterprise metadata repositories, business glossaries, data dictionaries, and governance artifacts across banking and financial services data ecosystems
- Create and manage detailed source-to-target data mappings (STTM), transformation logic, data lineage models, and traceability frameworks across critical business and regulatory data flows
- Partner with Business, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders to gather requirements, validate business rules, and translate regulatory requirements into metadata, mapping, lineage, and governance deliverables
- Support BCBS 239 compliance, regulatory reporting, audit readiness, data quality assessments, reconciliation activities, and impact analysis for upstream and downstream data changes
- Lead and mentor junior analysts, coordinate onshore and offshore delivery teams, and contribute to business development initiatives including RFPs, proposals, and client presentations

3 days per week onsite in a client or Cognizant office in
Dallas, Texas or
Tulsa, Oklahoma.

What you must have to be considered- 7 years of experience in Data Analysis, Metadata Management, Data Governance, Data Lineage, or Source-to-Target Data Mapping
- Banking or Financial Services industry experience
- Extensive hands-on experience creating and managing Source-to-Target Mappings (STTM)
- Strong expertise in Metadata Management, Data Governance, Data Lineage, Data Cataloging, and Data Quality frameworks
- Experience supporting BCBS 239, Risk Data Aggregation, Regulatory Reporting, Finance Data, or related regulatory programs
- Experience translating business, regulatory, and technology requirements into metadata, lineage, mapping, and governance artifacts
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge business and technology organizations
- Experience working across Risk, Finance, Compliance, Data Governance, and Technology teams
- Experience conducting data quality assessments, profiling, reconciliation, validation, and impact analysis activities
- Experience mentoring team members and coordinating onshore/offshore delivery teams
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
These will help you succeed- Hands-on experience with Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Ab Initio, or similar metadata management and governance platforms
- Experience with enterprise data cataloging tools and data lineage platforms
- Strong SQL skills and experience performing complex data analysis and validation
- Familiarity with Data Warehousing technologies and ETL/ELT platforms
- Experience supporting Risk, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, or Capital Markets data domains
- Experience contributing to RFP responses, proposals, and client presentations
- Proven experience leading small teams and supporting client-facing engagements
- Strong attention to detail with a data-quality mindset
- Ability to balance business meaning with technical implementation in highly regulated environments
- Experience operating within audit-intensive and compliance-driven banking organizations
