Full Job Description
As a Systems Analyst, you'll partner with the business to understand business needs and outcomes and provide a range of analysis skills related to understanding and achieving those outcomes. You'll translate business outcomes into solution requirements using techniques such as facilitation and visual management.
  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry, with a focus on Excess and Specialty lines; 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting and/or managing policy administration software within the insurance industry.
  • Experience with Guidewire platforms, preferably Guidewire InsuranceNow, in one or more of the following capacities: project implementation, major enhancement delivery, or ongoing production support.
  • Experience leading analysts, either directly or indirectly, including coaching less-experienced team members in day-to-day responsibilities and strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across business operations and technology teams-understanding business needs and translating them into effective technical solutions.
  • Experience using technology and productivity tools to support analytical work and multiple technical initiatives, including Agile delivery tools, Jira, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, AI language models, and collaboration and communication platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage executive business and technology leaders, cross-functional teams, capability peers, and individual contributors working in Agile environments.

This position will be hired on a SuccessFlex basis.

Work schedule: 2 days in office, 3 days remote.

As a Systems Analyst, you'll partner with the business to understand business needs and outcomes and provide a range of analysis skills related to understanding and achieving those outcomes. You'll translate business outcomes into solution requirements using techniques such as facilitation and visual management.

A Systems Analyst should have broad technology and analysis experience, including facilitation with large stakeholder groups, managing the complete requirements lifecycle, conducting structured analysis using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, analyzing data and application suites, and solving problems using a collaborative style. You'll be engaged in work efforts at all scales, ranging from minor defect fixes and enhancements to the development of new applications. You'll also work on all types of solution approaches (e.g., custom development, package implementation) and domains (e.g., all application types, data warehouses, web, and cloud).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leads or partners with business stakeholders, Architects, and technology professionals to understand business needs, desired outcomes, and solution context, align requirements with target architecture and technical guardrails, and identify impacts, dependencies, and trade-offs.
  • Manages complex requirements and drives business alignment through facilitation, visual management, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Supports or leads the complete requirements lifecycle from idea through implementation across complex initiatives.
  • Leads the development, clarification, and maintenance of detailed requirements work products and supporting documentation.
  • Drives verification, traceability, and management of functional and non-functional requirements, as well as secure software and systems engineering practices, throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Provides complex analysis of business processes, systems, data, and performance measures to support business outcomes, identify quality improvement opportunities, and strengthen decision-making.
  • Leads data-informed discovery by using usage and performance data to identify opportunities, validate assumptions, and translate insights into clear recommendations that balance customer needs, business value, technical feasibility, and product strategy.
  • Uses technical knowledge, business analysis expertise, and interpersonal skills to communicate, negotiate, and solve problems with stakeholders and team members.
  • Coaches less experienced analysts and raises the quality, consistency, and repeatability of analysis and requirements practices.


May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager or Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field are preferred.

License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications or designations are not required but encouraged.

Experience: Eight or more years of relevant work experience including software delivery or educational experience within a technology domain. Experience delivering technology and/or business solutions across industries, platforms and/or lines of business (LOBs) within the insurance and/or financial services industries. Demonstrated capability in managing the requirements lifecycle, including facilitation, elicitation, and documenting requirements.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of planning, and the ability to influence, negotiate, and set priorities as needed. Ability to facilitate requirement sessions using visual techniques with senior leaders. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership or technical skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
