Full Job Description
The Opportunity

HKA is seeking a Senior Associate Consultant to join our growing Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages team. This role is in office 3+ days per week; ideal for an early-career accounting professional-preferably a CPA or CPA candidate-who brings both foundational accounting expertise and technical aptitude (e.g., data analytics, SQL, data science, or AI).

You will support Senior team members and Expert Consultants by conducting research, building financial and economic models, performing detailed analyses, and contributing to high-quality reports. Engagements span Insurance Claims, Business Interruption, Lost Profits, Intellectual Property matters, Investigations, and related commercial disputes.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct and synthesize quantitative and qualitative research to support case analyses.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining consistent and professional communication.
  • Contribute to drafting and production of Expert reports, presentations, and supporting documentation.
  • Build and maintain complex financial and economic models using spreadsheets, databases, and analytical tools.
  • Communicate findings in a clear, concise, and professional manner, tailored to audiences with varying degrees of technical expertise.
  • Manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and priorities using strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and independent initiative-while embracing a culture where asking for help is encouraged and expected.
  • Foster strong internal and external relationships while maintaining the confidentiality inherent in client engagements.
Qualifications & Experience
Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting (highly preferred) OR in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related analytical field, with accounting coursework or training.

2+ years of professional experience in one or more of the following:
  • Auditing
  • Consulting and/or Professional Services in Client Facing roles
  • Forensic accounting or investigative services
  • Managing multiple competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong foundation in data analytics; experience with SQL, Python, R, or other analytical tools is preferred.
  • Ability to review, interpret, and summarize financial and non-financial documents for internal use.
Preferred
  • CPA license or active CPA candidacy
  • Technical exposure to data science, AI/ML concepts, automation, or advanced data modeling
  • Experience handling large structured or unstructured datasets
