Consultant - Experience Design & Service Design

Category: Business Consulting, Strategy and Digital Transformation

Main location: Canada, Quebec, Montre9al

Position ID:J0726-1864

Employment Type: Full Time

Position Description:

CGI's Management Consulting and Strategic IT Consulting practice is looking for an Experience Design & Service Design Consultant.

We are looking for professionals with experience in UX, as well as Customer Strategy, Customer Experience (CX), and Service Design, to join our multidisciplinary team. Are you a designer who enjoys strategy? A strategist who enjoys design? Is accessibility a topic you are passionate about? Do you believe a designer's role goes beyond creating mockups? So do we!

In this role, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the growth of our practice. Your expertise will complement that of a highly experienced team, helping you achieve both your own goals and those of our clients. You will support clients in their customer, employee, and user experience transformations and in the evolution of their services. You will be responsible for designing experiences for the customers, employees, or citizens impacted by our clients' initiatives and for developing the associated strategies.

If you enjoy working on topics that are central to business strategy-such as transformation support, customer- and employee-centric strategic planning, improving customer journeys and designing ideal experiences from a CX perspective, employee retention and professional development from an EX perspective, and more-you will find at CGI a stimulating opportunity to make a tangible impact on the success of our clients.

Work model: Onsite
Location: Montreal

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Specifically, you will be expected to:
• Support clients in defining their strategic transformation directions, as well as project teams in identifying key needs and designing customer, employee, or citizen experience strategies.
• Apply human-centered methodologies (workshop facilitation, ideation sessions, field research organization, etc.) to identify impacts, risks, challenges, needs, and potential solutions.
• Translate and communicate research and analysis findings through personas, user journeys, ecosystem maps, and other relevant deliverables.
• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, or other visual representations of your recommendations.
• Ensure alignment between your recommendations and implementation feasibility, including assessing required effort and capabilities.
• Support offering leaders with business development and market positioning activities (RFP responses, thought leadership, representation, etc.).

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Minimum 4 years of experience (Consultant) or 8 years of experience (Senior Consultant) in a role related to customer, employee, or user experience, or service design, such as UX, CX, or interface design.
• You know how to develop an experience strategy and identify and understand customer needs. You do not see yourself as just a UI designer because you:
• Master experience design methodologies (Human-Centered Design, Design Thinking, etc.) and know how to adapt them to constraints.
• Have strong research, synthesis, analysis, and mapping skills.
• Have hands-on experience facilitating workshops, brainstorming sessions, and co-creation activities.
• Are comfortable using Figma (and potentially v0, Bolt, Lovable, and Replit) to create mockups and prototypes.
• Have a strong awareness of digital accessibility and the ability to advise on and implement accessibility best practices.
• You are autonomous, adaptable, collaborative, empathetic, and capable of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• You are comfortable presenting to audiences at all organizational levels and with varying levels of familiarity with your area of expertise.
• You are fluent in both French and English. Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role, which involves interactions with national and global clients.
• You hold a university degree in research, communications, marketing, computer science, human-computer interaction, psychology, human resources, or a related and relevant field.
• Certifications in UX, CX, EX, Service Design, Design Thinking, or Transformation are considered assets.
• Accessibility certification is considered an asset.
• Experience in a leading consulting firm is a strong asset.

What Are the Benefits of This Position?
• Participation in an employee savings plan and comprehensive group insurance benefits.
• Access to continuous learning opportunities, conferences, events, and professional development programs.
• Membership in a talented, committed, and supportive team.
• Opportunity to work on exciting, diverse, high-impact projects that allow you to make a meaningful difference for users and clients.
