Full Job Description

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Software Developer to help design and deliver next-generation front-office technology solutions while contributing to large-scale strategic platforms that support our global Institutional Securities businesses.

 

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Lead Software Engineering position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of software solutions, applications and platforms that support business operations and strategic objectives.

 

 

 

What you'll do in the role:

 

·       Contribute to the design, development and delivery of front-office technol
  ogy solutions supporting Institutional Securities businesses.

·       Participate in large-scale technology initiatives that unify business plat
  forms across Fixed Income and Equities.

·       Develop software solutions using Scala and other object-oriented program
  ming languages.

·       Collaborate with global development teams across North America, Europe
  and Asia.

·       Partner with business users, desk strategists, market risk managers and
  other stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.

·       Work with modern asynchronous calculation graph platforms and bitempo
  ral data storage technologies.

·       Apply software development best practices, including source control and
  development tooling.

·       Continuously learn new technologies, business domains and financial con
  cepts while contributing to team success.

 

 

What you'll bring to the role:

 

·       Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field.

·       Solid experience with at least one object-oriented programming language
  such as Java, C++, C# or Python.

·       Strong interest in learning Scala and functional programming concepts.

·       Strong interest in learning financial markets and business processes.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·       Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

·       Passion for innovative and cutting-edge technologies.

·       Experience with IntelliJ or Eclipse IDE is an asset.

·       Experience using Git is an asset.

·       Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including client/server
  architecture, multithreading and memory management.

·       Exposure to functional programming languages is an asset.

·       Familiarity with Unix or Linux environments is an asset.

 

All our positions are located in Montreal, Quebec. We offer a hybrid work environment, combining remote work and attendance in the office.

 

 

Knowledge of French and English is required.
