Full Job Description
Job Title: Construction (QA) Inspector-Anchorage, AK

Work Location: Anchorage, AK (JBER)

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a Federal Background Review and drug screen

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily inspections and submit reports on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with contract, design documents, plans and specifications in regard to workmanship, materials, installation and construction methods.
  • Provide recommendations or necessary changes to government personnel regarding contract plans and specification relative to all phases of construction.
  • Monitor contractor's quality system and administer the three-phase inspection process.
  • Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution.
  • Deliver and review change orders; modification; RFIs; and submittals.
  • Monitor contractor's schedule.
  • Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor's requests for payment.
  • Verify accuracy of as-built drawings.
  • Review and ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by the contractor.
  • Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).


Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED minimum; Construction related degree, preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably USACE and/or Department of Defense
  • Experience with wide range of trades including, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction
  • Army Corp of Engineering (USACE), preferred
  • Experience using RMS 3.0, preferred
  • Experience with three-phase inspection process
  • Experience with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual, preferred
  • Demonstrate proficiency and effective communications skills in the English language in both oral and written forms
  • Must have knowledge of building and construction crafts since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship
  • Must be capable of reading contract drawings and specifications
  • Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable

Physical Requirements:
  • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
  • Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
