Remote Construction Project Scheduler - Live Anywhere in the Posted US States

What you will do

Johnson Controls helps deliver building solutions that support smarter, healthier, and more sustainable environments. In this role, you will help ensure complex construction projects are planned, tracked, and communicated with clarity so teams can execute with confidence.

You will partner closely with Construction Project Managers and Operations leaders on multiple high-impact projects while also contributing to corporate initiatives such as training development, data analytics, trend identification, and reporting.

As a Construction Project Scheduler, you will lead CPM scheduling efforts across active projects from baseline planning through schedule updates and impact analysis. You will help translate technical project information into clear schedules, reports, and recommendations that support execution, decision-making, and customer confidence.

How you will do it
  • Lead planning and CPM scheduling efforts for multiple high-impact construction projects.
  • Develop master project schedules and detailed construction schedules.
  • Enter activities, durations, and predecessor/successor logic into MS Project.
  • Collect progress information, update schedules, and incorporate changes into scheduling software.
  • Prepare schedule update reports and graphics in line with contract requirements.
  • Analyze schedule impacts, collect scheduling metrics, and create spreadsheets or databases to interpret and visualize data.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and statements of work to prepare usable baseline schedules for construction.
  • Monitor multiple project schedules and provide guidance to Operations staff as needed.
  • Analyze actual construction status against the proposed plan and communicate the impact of schedule changes.
  • Develop conceptual bid and proposal schedules and present them to executive leadership or selection committees when required.
  • Cost and manpower load schedules for use during project execution.
  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses using commonly accepted standards and recommended practices.
  • Develop and deliver specialized Planning and Scheduling training.
  • Review schedule quality and performance and recommend improvements to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Own schedule quality, updates, and reporting with accountability, safety, and integrity.
  • Stay close to the project work by working from current drawings, specifications, and field progress to build schedules that are practical and defensible.
  • Use MS Project, metrics, and clear visuals to turn schedule data into useful guidance for Operations and project teams.
  • Collaborate openly with Project Managers, Operations staff, owners, subcontractors, and senior leaders to remove obstacles and keep work moving.
  • Apply Planning & Scheduling Best Practices, use candor in analysis, and look for improvements in reports, training, policies, and procedures every day.


What we look for:
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline preferred
  • 3+ years scheduling experience on commercial construction projects
  • Working proficiency in MS Project software

  • Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with owners, subcontractors, senior leaders and project teams

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,000-93,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
