Position Overview

SteerBridge Strategies is seeking a Construction Project Manager to provide comprehensive project and construction management support for Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM) infrastructure upgrades at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) St. Louis Healthcare System, supporting both the Jefferson Barracks and John Cochran campuses.

The Project Manager will represent SteerBridge in a professional manner while overseeing project schedules, budgets, construction activities, inspections, and stakeholder coordination. This individual will play a critical role in mitigating claims, resolving field issues, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and VA standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage professional and technical services related to the VA design and construction delivery process in coordination with VISN leadership, building occupants, and contractors
  • Monitor project financials, budgets, allowances, obligations, and contractor payment applications
  • Maintain daily inspection logs and monitor project schedules, identifying and resolving schedule slippages
  • Conduct and document weekly or bi-weekly project meetings with stakeholders and integrated project teams
  • Resolve field and construction issues proactively to minimize project delays and claims
  • Support commissioning activities and ensure all required inspections and testing are completed
  • Manage construction documentation, as-built drawings, correspondence, and field verification activities
  • Assist in dispute resolution, Time Impact Analyses, negotiations, and project reporting activities
  • Ensure timely submission of project tracking reports, inspection reports, weekly summaries, and project management plans

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management or federal project delivery
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, construction plans, and specifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience supporting VA, USACE, GSA, or federal healthcare construction projects
  • Familiarity with FAR/VAAR and federal construction standards
  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar project management tools
  • Experience supporting healthcare infrastructure or Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM) projects


$145,000 - $155,000 a year

Compensation is commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
