Full Job Description
Job Objective:
The Project Manager, Construction is responsible for managing the planning, design, construction, renovation, and improvement projects across Dal-Tile's showrooms, sales and service centers, distribution facilities, manufacturing locations, and corporate offices. This position leads projects from concept through completion, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies while supporting Dal-Tile's operational growth and construction objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
• Manage multiple concurrent construction and improvement projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Oversee projects such as showroom construction and remodels, sales and service center improvements, office renovations, ADA compliance upgrades, security enhancements, infrastructure improvements, relocations, and capital improvement initiatives.
• Establish project objectives, scope, budgets, schedules, and performance expectations in alignment with business requirements.
• Coordinate project activities to minimize operational disruption and maintain business continuity.
• Develop project budgets utilizing historical costs, market data, and project-specific assumptions.
• Monitor financial performance throughout project execution and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Review and process invoices, purchase requests, change orders, and other project expenditures.
• Prepare financial forecasts and project status reports for management and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects remain within approved funding levels and communicate budget variances timely.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar project management software.
• Monitor project milestones and critical path activities to ensure timely completion.
• Identify schedule risks and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Coordinate dependencies between multiple concurrent projects and stakeholder groups.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for business leaders and construction stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Build strong working relationships with internal customers, including Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Distribution, Supply Chain, and Corporate functions.
• Facilitate effective communication between internal teams, contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants.
• Provide regular project updates, issue resolution, and status reporting to leadership.
• Prepare and administer requests for proposals for architectural, engineering, construction, and specialty service providers.
• Evaluate bids and proposals, participate in contract negotiations, and support vendor selection.
• Monitor vendor and contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.
• Resolve project-related issues while maintaining positive working relationships with external partners.
• Coordinate and review conceptual designs, schematic designs, design development documents, and construction documents.
• Ensure project designs support operational requirements, company standards, and construction objectives.
• Review submittals, requests for information, drawings, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct project site visits and monitor construction activities to verify quality and progress.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, ADA requirements, and company policies.
• Support adherence to OSHA safety standards and safe work practices.
• Identify project risks related to budget, schedule, quality, safety, and compliance and develop mitigation plans.
• Escalate significant project concerns to management as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Prepare project charters, meeting minutes, status reports, capital expenditure requests, funding approvals, closeout packages, and other required documentation.
• Track project metrics, key milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure proper turnover of project documentation, warranties, and operational manuals upon project completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience involving commercial construction, capital projects, construction improvements, or related construction environments.
• Experience managing projects from concept through closeout.
• Knowledge of construction methods, building systems, architectural drawings, engineering documentation, and contract administration.
• Experience developing and managing project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline; PMP, CCM, or similar certification; experience supporting construction projects involving showrooms, sales and service centers, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, or corporate office environments; experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling software; knowledge of ADA requirements, permitting processes, OSHA regulations, commercial building codes; and experience with construction administration, commissioning, punch list management, warranty administration, and project closeout activities.

Other Pertinent Job Information:
Ability to travel to project locations as required. Work is performed in a combination of office, manufacturing, distribution, showroom, sales and service center, and construction site environments. The position requires frequent interaction with internal customers, contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, and vendors. The role may require walking active construction sites and conducting site inspections, as well as sitting, standing, bending, and moving throughout work areas for extended periods. The associate must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
