Job Summary:

The Project Manager (Regional) is expected to perform construction management functions for the Maui Region which include managing the daily activities of multiple construction projects to ensure that they are completed within the period of time, budget and scope of work assigned; ensuring that all standards and requirements are met for Federal, State, and private accrediting bodies (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid, ADA, JCAHO, OSHA, etc.).

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides construction management oversight.
  • Responsible for the preparation, planning, coordination and management of multiple project assignments within broad general objectives and limits.
  • Work requires independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Prepares requests for fee proposals from consultants and construction contractors.
  • Must be able to clearly identify the requirements for future projects for facility improvement.
  • Assists in the preparation of contracts.
  • Coordinates schedule and work with the consultants, contractors, and construction management firms.
  • Provides information to and obtains comments from the various user groups of the affected facility.
  • Coordinates risk assessment meetings to ensure that the facility needs and concerns regarding construction impacts are being addressed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the project team obtains timely and accurate information and responses from the hospital as well as ensuring a smooth flow of information within the team itself.
  • Confirms billing invoices based upon satisfactory completion of tasks in accordance with the provisions of the contracts.
  • In coordination with the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for ensuring that costs are kept within the project budget.
  • Submits construction and budget progress status reports to the RCEO and CFO.
  • During the design of the projects, works with the architect in ensuring that specifications, plans construction schedules and designs for projects meets the requirements of the facilities.
  • Ensures that the designed work will be within scope and budget of the project.
  • Represent the hospital at project team meetings to clearly relay the requirements of the hospital and to answer any questions on a timely basis so as not to affect the project schedule.
  • Must be able to attend day and night meetings.
  • Works with the construction management firms and project team to ensure that the projects are built per approved plans and specifications.
  • Ensures that project documentation requirements are being satisfied.
  • In collaboration with the Facilities Operations Manager, participates in the planning process for future development of new services and growth of services.
  • Responsible for all major regional renovations that is not capital improvement projects.
  • These duties will include acquiring cost estimates for the project.
  • These estimates will include all design, construction, and permitting cost as applicable.
  • Ensures that all standards and requirements for JCAHO, Medicare/Medicaid, OSHA, and other requirements are met.
  • Facilities Duties - Kula and Lanai
  • Serves as the project manager whose duties include but are not limited to primary contact with consultants and contractors, primarily responsible for preparation of all required documentation, coordinated communication with all persons affected by such projects and responsible for the approval of all invoices related to the project.
  • Coordinates facility, land and building consulting contracts for or with the Hospital Administrator (s).
  • Provides consultative services as needed and as liaison relating to any construction projects.
Basic Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in design, construction or project management.

Education

  • Bachelors degree or certification in architecture, engineering, construction or project management or related field OR Four (4) years of directly related experience.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

  • Driver's License (from any state) required at hire

Pay Range: $94400 - $122100 / year Kaiser Permanente is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted pay range is based on possible base salaries for the role and does not include the value of our total rewards package.
