FTS has an immediate opportunity for a Construction Project Manager in Northern Virginia.
Construction Project Managers are responsible for providing project management expertise to manage major recap projects and building renovation projects.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee completion of activities in all phases of the project cycle of facilities-related construction projects
- Review designs submitted for changes to Government facilities
- Manage the project design and/ or construction effort
- Manage and evaluate contractor performance
- Integrate and coordinate the project with field personnel
- Evaluate, determine disposition, and manage project change requests
- Conduct construction inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and building codes
- Provide official weekly project status reports
- Enter contract status and other project data in MAXIMO or other applicable IT systems
- Prepare and distribute project communication with customers, management, integrated project teams and stakeholders
- Assist the Contracting Officer and COTR with acquisition planning, execution, and administration
- Collect requirements, prepare SOW, conduct market research, and develop sole source justification if appropriate
- Conduct technical review and evaluate project solicitations, proposals, quotes, and proposed change requests
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals
- Conduct pre-bid and pre-construction site visits
- Validate invoices for partial or full payment
- Assist in the preparation of Contractor Performance Report (CPR) upon contract closeout
Required Skills/Qualifications - TS/SCI with Polygraph
- High school diploma or GED
- 10 years of project management and construction experience
- 5 years of experience in the project management of a technical aspect of commercial or Government interior design or construction projects
- Thorough knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements
- Working knowledge of:
- Information Technology, mechanical, electrical, or communication systems
- Systems furniture and specifications
- AutoCad
- Microsoft Office Suite and Project software packages
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Gathering and defining design requirements with requesting customers and preparing alternative solutions ranging from conceptual design to final design within established parameters
- Creating or reviewing design and construction documents, preparing project specifications, developing record control documents, and generating presentation graphics
- Preparing cost and schedule estimates
- Collecting, preparing and reporting programmatic information
- Coordinating design activities with architecture, engineering, safety, security, construction and other related functional areas
- Managing and monitoring architecture and engineering (A&E) firms and construction firms for multiple projects during the design and construction phases and handling contract close out
- Interacting with personnel (Government and Contractor) at all levels in hierarchy
- Communicating (written and oral) well with all levels of audiences using clear and concise language
- Ability to:
- Work within US Government organization and follow established processes and procedures
- Handle multiple, demanding, and complex projects in a timely manner with accurate results
- Work independently and in team situations
- Work nights and weekends, as required, for operational necessities.
- Travel domestically or overseas, as required
- Experience working in a classified environment
Desired Skills/Qualifications - BA/BS degree in relevant field
- Highly motivated to continue to develop professional licenses, certifications, and expertise through formal training and on-the-job experience
- Professional Project Manager certification
- Experience using AutoCAD preferred
