Full Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager (Dredging) for our Baltimore, MD office that supports the successful delivery of complex construction projects by providing on-site construction monitoring, inspection, and quality assurance services. Experience with capital dredging, material handling, earthworks and site coordination is required and experience working with USACE and MDE would be advantageous . Working under general supervision as part of a multidisciplinary PMCM team, the role focuses on overseeing assigned construction packages while coordinating closely with contractors, client representatives, design engineers, and third-party inspectors. The position emphasizes ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards, while maintaining accurate field documentation, reports, and logs to support project controls, cost tracking, and overall construction performance. Other responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following: - Under general supervision, monitor and document construction activities of the construction contractor(s) to ensure compliance with the plans and specifications with a focus on a particular package but as needed assisting across construction various packages. - Under general supervision, performs routine duties on site during the course of the construction workday. - Displays knowledge and abilities to perform daily quality assurance inspections to assure the contractor's workmanship meets industry standards, is high quality, and that materials and equipment meet or exceed the requirements of the plans and specifications. - Compares materials and equipment installed with approved submittals, shop drawings, requests for information, and change orders and take appropriate action if unapproved materials or equipment are utilized. - Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work. - Prepare and submit a daily inspection report to AECOM's Senior Construction Manager - Performs project assurance of quantity surveys for tracking, reporting, and contractor payment purposes. - Identifies, tracks and manages interfaces between construction packages. - Coordinates field matters, as necessary, between client personnel, contractor, design engineers, and third-party entities such as special inspections. - Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications and plans. - Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design and raises issues to the Senior Construction Manager. - Assures quality control measures are in place and being followed through a formal quality assurance process to be developed. - Participates in safety programs as required, both internally (AECOM's) and externally (Contractor's) assurance of adherence. - Ability to chair progress meetings, if necessary, and keep accurate notes for team's creation of minutes. - Tracks and oversight of change order logs along with ability to recognize the validity of a change order request by the contractors. - Tracks RFI's and submittals for own knowledge in coordination of works. - Keep daily diaries and logs, provide input to weekly and monthly reporting. Minimum Qualifications: - BA/BS in Engineering, Construction or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education - Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review. Preferred Qualifications: - 10+ years of relevant experience in construction management and inspection in the engineering or construction industry. - PE registration. - Experience in port and marine terminal development. - Experience working as part of a field PMCM team. - Experience working with a PMIS (Procore, etc.) - Familiarity with the Baltimore, MD area. - Relevant Field Experience preferred. - Success in working with remote teams.
