Description / Position Overview
Construction Project Manager - Colorado Springs Airport
The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, and manage multifaceted capital improvement projects from initial conception through completion and close out. This role oversees and directs the work of external design professionals, contractors, and consultants throughout all phases of project development, including design, preparation of final construction documents, and construction administration. The position is responsible for coordinating project schedules, budgets, design activities, and construction efforts with internal departments, external stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and user groups. It ensures that project costs remain aligned with approved budgets and provides technical guidance and project support to internal teams.
The selected candidate must pass (or have already passed) a fingerprint-based criminal history records check as required by the Transportation Security Administration.

Please note that this position will require after-hours work to accommodate airport operation hours.
As an Airport Construction Project Manager, you will:
  • Identify project needs, define objectives, develop comprehensive project plans and ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Manage project budgets, estimate required resources and prioritize project milestones.
  • Perform project management for complex, multi-disciplinary development and redevelopment projects.
  • Lead operational enhancements and process-improvement initiatives, as well as direct and coordinate design professionals, consultants, project engineers, and construction management teams.
  • Facilitate problem-solving activities with project teams; identify issues and assign appropriate resources to resolve them.
  • Serve as a technical expert in the project's functional domain, providing consultative support to managers and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters, complaints, and inquiries related to assigned projects.
  • Track and report progress, status, risks, and performance of ongoing projects to appropriate parties while maintaining complete construction documentation and project records.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inspection and construction reports.
  • Lead Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) processes for project-related procurement and services.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
