Position Summary

The National Construction Project Executive - Data Center Electrical is a senior executive leader responsible for the successful delivery, operational excellence, and strategic growth of electrical construction services for hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and mission-critical data center customers nationwide. This role provides executive oversight for a portfolio of large-scale electrical construction projects ranging from greenfield hyperscale campuses to complex live-site expansions and upgrades. The Project Executive serves as the primary executive relationship manager for key data center clients, ensuring exceptional project execution, predictable delivery, operational scalability, and long-term customer partnerships. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in electrical construction and mission-critical environments with proven experience leading large project portfolios, developing high-performing teams, and driving profitable growth within the data center market.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Market Growth
  • Develop and execute a national strategy for electrical construction services focused on hyperscale, colocation, cloud, AI, semiconductor, and mission-critical data center clients.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities, market expansion initiatives, and strategic customer pursuits.
  • Establish and maintain national standards for data center project delivery, resource planning, quality assurance, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a thought leader within the organization on emerging technologies, power infrastructure trends, and mission-critical construction practices.

Customer Executive Leadership
  • Act as the executive sponsor for strategic data center customers and programs.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders at hyperscale and colocation providers, including construction, engineering, design, operations, and procurement executives.
  • Participate in executive business reviews, customer strategy meetings, and national account planning sessions.
  • Lead efforts to increase customer satisfaction, repeat business, and long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure alignment between customer expectations and project execution across all regions.

Project & Program Oversight
  • Provide executive oversight of large-scale electrical construction projects and national data center programs.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer quality standards.
  • Review project performance metrics, schedules, productivity reports, financial forecasts, risk assessments, and resource plans.
  • Support project teams in resolving complex operational, contractual, technical, and staffing challenges.
  • Drive consistency in project controls, reporting, commissioning readiness, and turnover processes.

Financial Performance
  • Maintain accountability for portfolio revenue, profitability, cash flow, and operational performance.
  • Review project forecasts, work-in-progress reports, labor productivity metrics, and margin performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and increase profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in major contract negotiations, change order strategy, claims management, and dispute resolution.
  • Support annual business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Operational Excellence
  • Standardize best practices for electrical construction execution across all data center projects.
  • Promote innovation in prefabrication, modular construction, digital construction technologies, and commissioning processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, schedule reliability, and productivity.
  • Ensure alignment between preconstruction, procurement, engineering, operations, commissioning, and customer teams.

Safety, Quality & Risk Management
  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture across all projects and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, company, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Lead executive-level safety reviews and operational risk assessments.
  • Promote quality assurance programs designed to meet stringent mission-critical facility requirements.
  • Ensure project teams maintain readiness for commissioning, energization, and customer turnover milestones.

Talent Development & Organizational Leadership
  • Build and mentor a high-performing national team of Project Executives, Operations Managers, Program Managers, and Project Managers.
  • Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Recruit and retain top talent with mission-critical and data center construction experience.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer focus.

Specific Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Advanced degree or executive leadership training is a plus.

Experience
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in electrical construction.
  • 10+ years managing large-scale mission-critical, data center, industrial, or complex infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience overseeing multi-site or national project portfolios.
  • Demonstrated success managing relationships with hyperscale and colocation data center customers.
  • Experience supporting projects exceeding $100M individually and managing portfolios exceeding $1B annually preferred.
