Full Job Description
LRS Federal, a veteran-owned leader in construction management and facility engineering for federal clients, is looking for a Construction Project Engineer to support our ongoing work at Red River Army Depot in Texas. This is your chance to join a team aligned by mission, technical excellence, and two decades of experience delivering complex federal projects.

What You'll Do:
As a Construction Project Engineer, you'll drive quality, accuracy, and accountability on critical construction initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Quality Assurance:
    Review quality assurance work for technical completeness, accuracy, and provide expert guidance on plans, specifications, and applicable code interpretation.
  • Schedule and Methodology Evaluation:
    Assess contractor schedules for sequencing, construction methodology, and contract compliance, ensuring all plans align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Comprehensive Project Documentation:
    Document and review principal construction features, requirements, submittals, shop drawings, and more. Maintain real-time awareness of contractor activities to proactively address and avoid government-caused construction delays.
  • Change Management:
    Evaluate proposed changes to project scopes, requirements, and timelines. Prepare detailed, expert-level information to support government negotiation teams and assist with change order management and documentation.
  • Contract Administration Consulting:
    Advise government personnel on construction contract administration, acquisition management, and federal construction regulations. Review and make recommendations on design/specification changes to accommodate site conditions or expedite schedules.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Prepare clear, concise briefing materials for stakeholders and deliver status updates as needed.
  • BCOES and Field Reviews:
    Perform BCOES (Biddability, Constructability, Operability, Environmental & Sustainability) and plan-in-hand reviews to ensure all plans are executable and compliant.


What We're Looking For:
  • Degree in an engineering or architecture discipline with at least 7 years related experience, or 10 years of successful construction project management
  • Advanced understanding of construction methods, technical documentation, and government contract administration
  • Adept at interpreting codes, specifications, and federal acquisition regulations
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and advise on complex, high-stakes federal projects
