Position Summary

The Construction Manager holds overall field responsibility for the vertical construction scope of a mission-critical data center building, coordinating the general trades, MEP trade partners, and specialty subcontractors from foundation turnover through commissioning and owner turnover. This role manages the master project schedule, budget, and subcontractor performance, and serves as the primary point of contact between the field team, the owner's representative, and the design team on matters of scope, sequencing, and quality.

This is a field-based position supporting construction projects in North Louisiana, Virginia, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Project assignments and reporting locations will vary based on operational needs. Travel and/or temporary relocation may be required.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day field operations for the vertical construction scope, including structural, architectural, and MEP trade coordination.
  • Manage the master project schedule in coordination with the scheduling team, including logic ties between civil, structural, MEP, and commissioning milestones.
  • Review and approve subcontractor pay applications, change orders, and cost forecasts against the approved budget.
  • Lead OAC (owner-architect-contractor) meetings and maintain open items logs for RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications.
  • Coordinate MEP trade sequencing in the white space and gray space, including electrical gear sets, mechanical equipment placement, and raised floor or slab installation.
  • Oversee the transition from construction completion through commissioning, including support for Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities and integrated systems testing.
  • Manage subcontractor buyout, scope gap review, and contract compliance for all trade partners.
  • Support the safety manager in enforcing site-specific safety plans and maintaining a zero-incident work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, including at least 5 years managing large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing MEP-intensive scopes of work and multi-trade coordination.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar CPM scheduling software.
  • Strong working knowledge of budget management, cost forecasting, and change order administration.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience delivering a data center, semiconductor fabrication, or other mission-critical facility.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, including IST (integrated systems testing) and Cx (commissioning) documentation.
  • Experience working directly with hyperscale or colocation owner's representatives.

Work Environment

Split between an on-site field office and active construction areas, including data halls, electrical yards, and mechanical rooms during equipment installation and commissioning. Requires the ability to walk the full site regularly, including areas with active overhead work, and to wear standard personal protective equipment.
