Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Construction Manager II is responsible for assisting their assigned Project Manager in the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned construction projects. The ideal candidate will be required to assist their assigned Project Manager in coordinating all contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications and ensure all other Project Management objectives are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.
Ideal candidate will have experience with managing self-perform crews and large scale industrial projects, experience with mechanical process piping, infrastructure, and assist with project schedules
Key Responsibilities:1. Assist the Project Manager in directing and coordinating staff for management of contracted projects, ensuring proper staffing while maintaining profitability for Sundt Construction.
2. Communicate with crews and field managers to ensure all projects are administered and completed within guidelines, budgets, and work hours.
3. Develops an understanding of the prime contract, subcontracts, purchase order agreements, and allowance items as well as contract drawings and specifications. Administers elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget. Demonstrates business acumen within area of responsibility.
4. Ensure safety on every project by enforcing safety training and meetings, as well as consistently monitoring job sites for potential safety hazards.
5. Establish and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients and provide assistance to clients for any potential and existing problems.
6. Help plan, direct, coordinate and motivate employees to achieve goals and objectives and effectively resolve complaints and issues.
7. May participate in concrete form design and related equipment selection and will participates in takeoffs for concrete, asphalt concrete, earthwork, and utilities as required.
8. Monitor daily budget goals and weekly labor cost analysis for each project and make appropriate changes to meet budget and cost guidelines.
9. Plans, acquires, develops and supervises members of the project team to ensure relentless execution of the project.
Minimum Job Requirements:1. 10+ Years, $100M minimum Project Site experience.
2. Demonstrates an understanding of the components of the project management plan (PMP) including the project scope management plan, procurement plan, environmental plan, time management plan, financial plan, quality management and safety plans and risk management plan to ensure successful project execution. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process.
3. Four-year construction related degree or equivalent technical training and related experience, plus a minimum of 6+ years of experience in the construction industry.
4. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs and project scheduling software.
5. Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams.
7. Superior communication and organization development skills.

Physical Requirements:1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
2. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
6. Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
8. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday.
9. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs on an occasional basis.
10. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
11. Will work various shifts, including swing, night and weekend.
