Full Job Description
As Construction Manager, you will own the buildout of our new factory - the physical foundation of everything we make. You will manage our general contractor, coordinate our in-house architecture and engineering team, and drive the project from preconstruction and permitting through construction, commissioning, and handover - delivering a safe, on-budget, on-schedule facility built to scale into full-rate production.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own delivery of our new factory buildout - manage the general contractor and coordinate our in-house architecture and engineering team, from preconstruction through commissioning
  • Own construction coordination and installation of all base building and process systems, built to the in-house design: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, dust collection, life safety, and process utilities
  • Coordinate permitting and inspections with the in-house design team and authorities having jurisdiction - keeping approvals off the critical path
  • Execute the facility layout in partnership with manufacturing engineering to support material flow, line balance, and future expansion
  • Own the construction schedule - track critical path, manage milestones, and hold the GC and vendors accountable to the plan
  • Own the project budget - track costs, review the GC's buyout and change orders, and identify savings without compromising schedule or safety
  • Hold the GC accountable for site safety and code compliance - OSHA, NFPA, EPA, fire marshal, and local inspections
  • Establish and track KPIs for schedule adherence, budget variance, and construction quality
  • Drive commissioning, punch list closeout, and turnover of all building and process systems to operations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of experience in construction management or project management - ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy production environment
  • Direct experience leading a factory or industrial buildout from greenfield or fit-out through commissioning and ramp
  • Proven track record managing a general contractor and vendors - including contract administration, change-order management, and schedule control
  • Strong working knowledge of building and process systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, life safety, and process utilities - with sharp constructability judgment
  • Familiarity with building codes, OSHA standards, NFPA, and local permitting processes
  • Proficient with construction management software and scheduling tools; CAD or facility-planning tools a plus
  • Proven track record managing multi-million dollar capital construction budgets
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline preferred, not required
  • PE, PMP, CCM, or LEED certification a plus
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Candidates must be based in or ready to relocate to Austin, TX full-time.
  • As AHC scales, this role has the opportunity to expand into broader construction management roles across the company
  • AHC provides comprehensive benefits, PTO, and participation in company equity programs.
