Title:
Construction Manager - Cranes & Rigging (LNG Project)

KBR is looking for a Construction Manager with extensive expertise in cranes, heavy lifting, and rigging operations to support a major LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all heavy lift and rigging activities associated with the construction of LNG facilities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

This role requires a proven leader with significant experience managing heavy lift programs for large industrial projects, including LNG, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, or similar megaproject environments.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Lead all crane, heavy haul, lifting, and rigging activities across the LNG construction site.
  • Develop and oversee lift strategies, rigging plans, critical lift procedures, and execution schedules.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, logistics, and commissioning teams to support project milestones.
  • Manage crane and rigging contractors, lifting supervisors, and field personnel.
  • Review and approve lift studies, engineered lift plans, transportation plans, and crane utilization strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, OSHA regulations, industry standards, and company safety requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with heavy lifts, oversized equipment installation, and transport operations.
  • Oversee installation of major LNG equipment, including:
    • Cryogenic vessels
    • Heat exchangers
    • Compressors
    • Pipe racks
    • Modules
    • Storage tanks
    • Structural steel components
  • Monitor productivity, cost performance, and schedule adherence for lifting and rigging operations.
  • Conduct site audits, safety reviews, and field inspections to ensure operational excellence.
  • Support construction planning, constructability reviews, and execution strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular progress reporting to project leadership and stakeholders.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, with at least 5 years focused on crane and rigging operations for large industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting major LNG, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Heavy lift engineering
    • Crane selection and utilization
    • Rigging systems and hardware
    • Load calculations
    • Ground-bearing pressure requirements
    • Transport and logistics planning
  • Experience managing large crawler cranes, hydraulic cranes, SPMTs, strand jacks, and specialized lifting systems.
  • Proven experience overseeing critical lifts and complex equipment installations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations, ASME standards, and industry best practices for lifting operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • LNG construction project experience strongly preferred.
  • NCCCO Crane Operator, Lift Director, or related certifications.
  • Experience with EPC or EPCM project delivery models.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with 3D lift planning and construction management software.
  • Experience working on projects exceeding $500 million in total installed cost.
