Full Job Description
Salary range: $75,000-$150,000

Location: Charlottesville, VA 22902 (In-Person/On-Site)

Position

MCAP has an opportunity for a proven Owner's Representative to lead additions, renovations, and capital improvement projects.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Construction and Development. The Owner's Representative represents the owner's interests throughout additions, renovations, and capital improvement projects, managing multiple projects from inception through completion. The successful candidate will work closely with Commonwealth Senior Living, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple additions, renovations, and capital improvement projects across a portfolio of senior living communities.
  • Prepare and maintain project scopes, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants throughout design and construction.
  • Review construction documents, contracts, change orders, invoices and pay applications.
  • Coordinate construction activities with CSL to minimize disruption to residents and daily operations.
  • Prepare and present weekly project updates to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, life safety requirements, and CSL standards.
  • Travel to communities throughout the portfolio regularly to support projects.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible Owner's Representative or Construction Management experience.
  • Experience managing multiple additions, renovations, or capital improvement projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building systems, building codes, contract administration, and project scheduling.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage occupied renovation projects with professionalism and attention to resident safety and experience.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the portfolio, including occasional overnight travel.

Preferred
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, multifamily, or other occupied environments.
  • Experience as an Owner's Representative or managing projects on behalf of a real estate owner, developer, REIT, or private equity investment firm.
  • Experience supporting acquisition, repositioning, or value-add investment strategies.
