This Opportunity

WSP is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for our Houston, TX office. This role will be part of our Construction Management team and will oversee vertical construction projects within the concourse and terminal areas. This role will support both new construction and renovation efforts, ensuring all work aligns with project specifications, regulatory standards, and stakeholder expectations. .
Your Impact
  • Manage and oversee all phases of vertical construction within concourse and terminal areas, ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate daily activities with contractors and a broad range of stakeholders, including the ABIA executive team, Airlines, Operations, and Environmental teams
  • Review and evaluate contractor schedules, monitor progress, and identify potential risks or delays
  • Support the change management process by assessing proposed changes and facilitating necessary approvals
  • Navigate and interpret design documents, technical specifications, and contract requirements with accuracy and confidence
  • Ensure construction activities meet minimum code requirements and quality standards
  • Communicate effectively across teams to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to decision-making and issue resolution
  • Provide field oversight and documentation, including daily inspection reports and tracking of deficiencies
  • Strong communication skills
  • Collaborate with inspectors and project managers to verify installed quantities and support pay application reviews
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the construction industry
  • Solid understanding of current environmental codes and regulatory requirements applicable to airport-related construction.
  • Demonstrated aviation-related construction experience, including work on or around airport terminals and improvement projects
  • Well-versed in all phases of vertical building construction, familiar with minimum code requirement
  • Ability to successfully pass a TSA criminal background check
  • Capable of navigating design documents and contract specifications
  • Strong understanding of environmental codes and regulatory requirements relevant to airport construction
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and SharePoint
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards, and ability to interpret design documents and contract specifications
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Available for occasional night-time work as required by project schedules or operational needs

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
