**This position can sit in either Irvine, CA, or Los Angeles, CA**

CDM Smith is seeking a Construction Management Professional to support the delivery of construction management services on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role involves overseeing construction activities, coordinating project teams, and supporting presale efforts to help secure new work.

The ideal candidate brings strong construction management experience and the ability to contribute to both project execution and client engagement.

  • Plans, manages, and oversees construction projects ranging from multiple small to medium projects to large, multi-contract projects of moderate complexity, with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure. Conducts project analyses and reporting, including monthly progress reports and documentation of deficiencies, issues, risks, and/or overruns.
  • Scope of responsibility includes oversight of construction representatives and construction specialists.
  • Manages and controls all construction management activities, including critical path method (CPM) scheduling, cost control, and claims administration. Interprets plans and specifications for clients, contractors, and company field personnel. Provides guidance to construction staff and serves as a resource to other functional groups within the organization.
  • Supports presale and business development efforts by contributing to proposals, developing scopes of work, and participating in client meetings and presentations related to water and wastewater projects. Maintains and builds relationships with existing and prospective clients to support the pursuit of new construction management opportunities.
  • Oversees and coordinates shop drawing review and approval processes. Participates in the administration and operation of the construction management group, as required. Reviews applicable government and funding agency regulations to ensure compliance and provide informed guidance throughout project execution.
  • Provides support in claims administration, including documentation and, when needed, participation in dispute resolution or expert witness activities. Performs other duties as required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

USD $138,258.00
Pay Range Max

USD $241,966.00
Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
