Full Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs inspection on projects for the inspection of corrosion, surface preparation, containment installation, painting, lead abatement, environmental control, and waste disposal;
  • Monitor contractor's daily activities and uses applicable field testing and inspection procedures and equipment to perform required field testing;
  • Preparation of daily field inspection reports, including communication of deficiencies observed in the field to project managers, contractors, and/or client representatives;
  • Implements and follows Company and project safety protocol;
  • All related duties as required to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of experience in steel painting inspection services, such as bridges, water tanks, towers, etc., with knowledge of the various types of abatement methods typically utilized;
  • Successful completion of NACE Level 2 Coating Inspection Program;
  • Must possess HS Diploma or equivalent;
  • Proven working knowledge with NYSDOT Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) standards and specifications;
  • Willing to travel to steel shops nationwide;
  • Must be detail oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • A valid, clean driver's license and personal vehicle to travel to job sites.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the essential functions of this position, it is frequently necessary to:
  • Assume a stationary position,
  • Handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job;
  • Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients using Company email and telephone systems;
  • Move around on the job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, usually for prolonged periods of time,
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections,
  • Good visual skills, including focused depth perception, and
  • Regular daily operations of a motor-vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.

Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery, such as calculators, printers, and copy machines. Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.

Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00 / hour
