THE OPPORTUNITYWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Construction Inspector to play a vital role in overseeing public works and capital projects. This position involves ensuring that all construction activities adhere to approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. As a key field representative, you will work closely with the City, contractors, engineers, utility providers, developers, and property owners to facilitate successful project delivery while safeguarding public interests. In this role, you will conduct detailed inspections of construction sites, evaluate materials and artistry, and monitor contractor compliance. The responsibilities will also include documenting project activities, conducting field testing and inspections, and preparing comprehensive project reports.

MINIMUM AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or a G.E.D. equivalent; two years of experience in construction inspection; six years of trades experience working on large public works construction projects; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
