What you will enjoy doing* - In this role you will provide safety support at the project site, oversee Contractor activities
- You will provide effective leadership to a team of Safety Techs and plan their activities to support the project team's goal to maintain a zero safety performance
- You will oversee Work Permits on a daily basis, identify improvement opportunities and initiate necessary actions
- Further you will perform accident investigations including Root Cause Analyses of injuries, illnesses, and key incidents
Perform corrective actions following citations or safety incidents to remain within compliance of occupational and health regulations - You will be in charge to monitor contractors' safety programs, perform periodic HSE audits
- You will also lead sample safety inspections every day, identify good practices and improvement opportunities, report findings to site management and follow up at the same time to ensure timely conformance
- You will help develop and implement local safety training and campaigns to maintain a positive safety culture
- You should be able to implement and lead a strong Safety Observation program
- You should be willing to work majority of the working time in the field performing HSE inspections, observations, and help correct UA&UCs
What makes you great - You must have bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in chemical engineering or a related field and ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered, as a Global Safety Manager, Consultant, Engineering Manager, Engineering Specialist, Senior Engineer, Engineer, or a related position
- Further, you must have at least ten years of progressively responsible experience with all of the following: safety assessments and inspection; process safety; incident and accident investigation; root cause analysis; engineering design safety parameters; processing hazard analysis (PHA) and developing corrective and preventive actions based on risk and implementation
- In addition, you must have three years of experience in developing and implementing required safety training; evaluating occupational health exposure and risk and initiative preventive actions; conceptualizing and developing safety improvement programs; health, safety, and environment (HSE) training and development; assessing HSE technical training requirements; conceptualizing training content and coverage
- You will be developing training course materials for other professionals and leading internal HSE assessments
