ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a
Construction Field Supervisor to join our team supporting the
Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and mentoring towards the project construction teams, coordinate with the functional organizations, and recommend improvement opportunities to senior personnel within the project organization.
- Render expert opinions towards the execution of construction field work activities, provide recommendations towards project design, work control, and construction teams in specific areas of expertise.
- Provide independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise and provide guidance to project teams in delivering results on projects of complex, high-technology nature.
- Interface with management personnel and customer representatives.
- Review work quality, provide other compliance and/or quality-related support functions including development of enhanced employee training (mock-ups), delivery of facility-level enhanced employee training, including the tracking and scheduling of enhanced employee training.
Requirements- Education & Years of Experience - Bachelor's Degree in and 8+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
- Clearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Eight (8) or more years' experience in the construction or maintenance field and 5 years of experience supporting the DOE mission is highly desired.
- DOE Construction experience.
- CAT II Nuclear Facility experience.
- Experience in DOE Plutonium Facility.
Desired Skills- Previous qualifications as a Field Work Supervisor or Responsible (Line) Manager, and previous work experience at LANL or in a DOE Haz Cat II Plutonium facility are preferred.
About the SiteThe NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
