Full Job Description
Responsibilities

HazTek is seeking an experienced Field Manager to provide day-to-day, owner-side field oversight for a large-scale construction project. This is a long-term opportunity expected to continue through 2029.

The Field Manager will maintain an active onsite presence, verify construction progress, identify field constraints, and coordinate with the owner, general contractor, subcontractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and other project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience, preferably as a Field Engineer or in a similar construction field-management role.

Responsibilities
  • Observe daily construction activities for general conformance with contract documents, approved submittals, design intent, and project requirements

  • Assess daily and weekly progress and validate reported completion

  • Identify field constraints, access issues, rework, coordination conflicts, and potential schedule impacts

  • Coordinate activities among the owner, general contractor, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party project partners

  • Track near-term schedules, look-ahead activities, critical work, constraints, and recovery actions

  • Review and track RFIs, submittals, inspections, procurement items, and decisions affecting field execution

  • Support construction surveying, layout verification, and documentation of field conditions

  • Coordinate site access, logistics, deliveries, temporary conditions, and active work areas

  • Participate in field-coordination meetings, schedule reviews, site walks, and punch-list inspections

  • Support MOPs, shutdowns, notifications, energization, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities

  • Prepare accurate field reports, meeting notes, action-item logs, and progress updates

  • Assist with punch-list completion, inspections, correction verification, closeout documentation, and turnover to operations

  • Observe contractor safety and quality implementation and promptly escalate concerns through established project channels

Qualifications
  • Significant onsite construction experience in a Field Engineer, Field Manager, Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, or comparable role

  • Data center or mission-critical construction experience required

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and field documentation

  • Experience with construction surveying, layout, or verification of installed work

  • Ability to evaluate field progress, identify constraints, and communicate potential cost, schedule, quality, or commissioning impacts

  • Experience coordinating general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and commissioning personnel

  • Familiarity with look-ahead schedules, punch lists, commissioning, startup, turnover, and closeout

  • Strong written communication, reporting, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to maintain a consistent onsite presence and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment
