Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Construction Engineer to support our Lake Elsinore Project in Lake Elsinore, CA.

Responsibilities

he responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Performing assignments that require the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria's to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Exercising judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Preparing engineering related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids.
  • Assisting with field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
  • Assisting with construction administration and documentation of deficiencies and deviations from plans.
  • Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Researching and compiling project information for reporting, marketing, and funding requests.
  • Creating and maintaining centralized files for project records (including digital).
  • Coordinating logistics and meetings for project managers.
  • Helping in the preparation of reports, including monthly development reports.
  • Assisting with community outreach duties as needed.
  • Attending neighborhood, community, and project meetings.
  • Undertaking tasks as may be assigned by project managers.
  • Having a clear understanding of the budget and assist in the creation of and adherence to project and development budgets.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a related field + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in heavy civil construction with an understanding of construction methods, means, and materials.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and high-paced field environments.

The salary range for this position is between $105,000- $135,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
