Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a motivated Construction Engineer to work on PM/CM teams assisting Transportation Infrastructure projects in the New York Metro area for various government agencies and authorities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities requiring application of standard techniques and best practices
  • Completes tasks requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles and construction methodologies
  • Focuses on estimating take-offs, conducting walk-downs for quantity tracking, reporting installed quantities, and performing field inspections to verify design compliance
  • Assists in the preparation and review of construction drawings and related technical documents to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications
  • Contributes to specific portions of broader assignments within established guidelines and project parameters
  • Coordinates with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and resolve field-related issues
  • Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and correspondence to support project administration
  • Monitors project schedules and budgets, tracking progress against established baselines and identifying potential delays or cost overruns
  • Supports quality assurance activities by conducting material testing, inspections, and verification of workmanship standards
  • Processes Requests for Information (RFIs) and assists in the evaluation and implementation of change orders in coordination with project management


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Engineering, or a related field
  • Due to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to internal project teams, senior management, and external stakeholders, including executive-level client leadership
  • Experience working with New York City agencies
  • Professional certifications in Construction Project Management and Construction Scheduling
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Canva and ArcGIS
