Purpose of the RoleThe Construction Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating and supporting construction activities to ensure safe, efficient, and quality project execution. This role serves as a key liaison between construction management, engineering, project controls, quality, subcontractors, and field supervision teams to facilitate work execution in accordance with project requirements, schedules, and company standards.
The Construction Coordinator II monitors construction progress, identifies and resolves field issues, coordinates work interfaces across disciplines, and supports the successful delivery of construction milestones. This position plays a critical role in maintaining alignment between engineering deliverables, construction priorities, and project objectives while promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily construction activities across multiple disciplines to support safe and efficient project execution.
- Work closely with Construction Managers, Superintendents, Field Engineers, and subcontractors to ensure construction activities are properly planned and executed.
- Monitor field progress and provide updates on construction status, schedule performance, and potential risks.
- Coordinate work interfaces between engineering, procurement, quality, project controls, commissioning, and construction teams.
- Review construction work packages, drawings, specifications, and procedures to support field execution.
- Assist with constructability reviews and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce execution risks.
- Participate in daily coordination meetings, planning sessions, and progress reviews.
- Track and facilitate resolution of field issues, technical queries, and construction constraints.
- Support workforce planning and resource coordination to meet project objectives.
- Ensure construction activities are performed in compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and support issue resolution as needed.
- Coordinate material availability and support logistics planning to prevent construction delays.
- Assist in the development and implementation of construction execution plans and work sequencing strategies.
- Support turnover, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of construction progress, field changes, and project documentation.
- Promote compliance with Worley and client safety requirements and actively participate in safety initiatives.
- Identify and communicate schedule impacts, productivity concerns, and potential cost risks to project leadership.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.
Qualifications / SkillsetEducation- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline; or
- Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant construction experience.
Experience- Typically requires 5+ years of construction, field engineering, project coordination, or industrial project execution experience.
- Experience supporting large industrial, energy, chemical, infrastructure, mining, or EPC projects is preferred.
- Previous experience working in active construction environments is highly desirable.
Technical Skills- Strong understanding of construction execution processes, work packaging, scheduling, and field coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering documents, specifications, and project schedules.
- Familiarity with construction management systems, project controls processes, and document management systems.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices, quality requirements, and industry standards.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software applications.
