Full Job Description
The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has a Construction/Contract Manager position available. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Engineering function. This position will report to the East Coast Regional Engineering Manager

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Plan and coordinate the construction/installation of all phases of the construction and support processes on his/her projects.
  • Set contracting strategy, select contractors, set safety expectations, responsible for development of integrated project schedules.
  • Provide construction input to cost estimates, quality requirements and procurement plans.
  • Audit total contractor performance against established expectations.
  • Primary coordinator for all Chemours and contractor resource requirements during the construction phase of the work, including safety, technical, and control personnel.
  • Provide direction, set expectations, and audit to assure achievement of safety goals, productivity of the workforce, completion of projects at or below estimate, attainment of schedules, and quality of work.
  • Provide constructability analyses, construction scopes of work and inclusion of innovative/cost effective construction technologies.
  • Ensure that safety is designed into the projects and that safety requirements are included in contract packages.
  • Administer and implement contracts in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Lead and supervise site contract administrators and field contract administrators.
  • Ensure contracting best practices are understood and followed.
  • Assure materials and equipment are available and are delivered to the proper locations to maintain schedule and productivity.
  • Manage and document changes during installation.


In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent
  • 10+ years of Industrial Construction experience
  • Broad knowledge of capital project and support processes
  • Experience leading/managing multiple capital construction projects.
  • Experience in achieving field execution through the use of contractors
  • Capable of detailed planning for contracted field work, in a way that barriers and contingencies are anticipated, and appropriate resources are allocated
  • Ability to perform constructability analyses
  • Knowledge of Best Practices for safety, contracting/sourcing, cost control, quality assurance, scheduling, project cycle time reduction, invoicing, value engineering, and front end loading


The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
  • Associate's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 5+ years of Industrial Construction Experience
  • Ability to proactively lead and motivate contractors and others to complete assigned tasks on schedule
  • Ability to bring together a diverse group of parties involved in field execution and keep them focused on common objectives.
  • Ability to review estimates for validity and to use them to develop plans and schedules
  • Knowledge of project change order procedures
  • Understanding of contracting and purchasing processes
  • Use of scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera) and knowledge of critical path method scheduling.
  • Knowledge of construction and site safety, and environmental procedures/policies
  • Skill, ability, and experience in networking and teamwork, negotiating, planning, application of construction technology and applications, defining project scope, and translating scope into cost estimates
  • Must be willing to relocate after 2-3 years if capital workload shifts to another Chemours site.
  • Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office tools.

Annual Bonus Target:
8%
