We're seeking a
Construction Commissioning Superintendent - Mechanical to lead the installation, testing, and startup of mechanical systems in high-performance data centers. This role involves hands-on commissioning of HVAC systems, liquid cooling infrastructure, and piping systems, ensuring all work meets stringent safety, quality, and performance standards.
Job requirements - High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical construction management, including at least 3 years in data center or mission-critical facility projects.
- PMP, LEED AP, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience with liquid cooling systems (e.g., direct-to-chip, immersion cooling) in high-performance computing environments.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
- Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, mechanical drawings, commissioning scripts, and Change Management plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams and complex projects. Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities.
- Familiarity with commissioning software, Building Management Systems (BMS), and project management tools such as Procore, Primavera, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Other important requirements:
- Must provide own steel-toed work boots; all other PPE will be supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work operations site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
- Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
- Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.
Job responsibilities - Lead the commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
- Manage all mechanical construction activities for the data center project, including installation of liquid cooling systems, HVAC, piping, and related infrastructure.
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of liquid cooling technologies, ensuring compatibility with high-density computing environments.
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, general contractors, and vendors to integrate mechanical systems with other data center components (e.g., power, networking).
- Ensure all mechanical installations comply with project specifications, industry standards, and local building codes.
- Maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of mechanical milestones while mitigating risks and delays.
- Monitor and control mechanical construction costs, including equipment, labor, and materials, to stay within project budgets.
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety protocols, particularly for high-risk mechanical installations.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services for liquid cooling and mechanical systems.
- Oversee the commissioning of mechanical systems, including performance testing of liquid cooling loops, pumps, heat exchangers, and backup systems.
- Maintain accurate records of mechanical installations, including as-built drawings, equipment specifications, and compliance reports.
- Promote energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable practices in the design and construction of mechanical systems.

Compensation - The expected hourly rate for this role is $65.00 USD .
- Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications.
- Per Diem amount of $180.00 and project allowance, when applicable
- 15% night-shift premium for eligible roles, when applicable
- Overtime compensation for non-exempt workers for hours worked over 40 per week
