Job Description: Construction and Quality Manager

Overview

The Construction & Quality Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, high-quality, and profitable execution of Utility & Infrastructure field operations, with primary responsibility for substation, transmission, and electric distribution construction projects. This position may also oversee other Utility & Infrastructure scopes of work as business needs dictate, including transportation electrification, utility-scale solar, industrial electrical, and related infrastructure projects

Role Summary

The ideal candidate is a seasoned Construction & Quality Manager who will serve as the primary field operations leader, responsible for workforce planning, construction execution, productivity management, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. This position partners closely with Project Management, Estimating, Safety, and Executive Leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer specifications and company standards

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary: $115,000-$135,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture across all projects.
  • Lead and coordinate field construction operations associated with transmission, substations, and electric distribution projects.
  • May support and oversee other Utility & Infrastructure projects as assigned.
  • Manage labor, equipment, tooling, and subcontractor resources.
  • Drive productivity and operational excellence across multiple projects.
  • Establish and enforce quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Conduct routine field audits and project quality inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with utility standards, customer specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Support project financial performance through efficient execution and resource utilization.
  • Develop Superintendents, General Foremen, and future field leaders.
  • Support storm restoration mobilization and emergency response activities.
  • Participate in executive operations reviews, forecasting, and strategic planning sessions


Qualification

  • 10+ years of utility construction experience.
  • 5+ years of construction leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing transmission, substation, and electric distribution construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of utility construction standards and customer requirements.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, crews, and geographic work locations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.


Education and Experience

  • Experience with utility-scale solar, transportation electrification, industrial electrical, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting major utility customers.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Quality Management and Continuous Improvement experience.
