Responsibilities

  • Understand project requirements including drawings, specifications, and installation methods.
  • Lead integration of BIM design with construction installation for constructability assessment.
  • Coordinate with Project Supervision and Design Team to facilitate design progress and installation support.
  • Conduct constructability reviews using knowledge of construction techniques and electrical installation.
  • Develop installation strategies and define project scope with engineering, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Act as liaison among contractors, suppliers, and design teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports and maintain accurate project records.

Full Job Description
IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical, seeking full-time Constructability Manager-Data Center in Richmond, Virginia.

Job Summary

  • Will have a complete understanding of the project requirements including a detailed understanding of drawings, specifications, and the means and methods of installation.
  • Works as the Lead for integrating the BIM design with the actual construction installation and ensuring constructability.
  • Requires applying a detailed understanding of electrical installation, data center construction, and working knowledge of BIM with ability to become proficient with multiple software programs.
  • Coordinates directly with Project Supervision and the Design Team to keep the project design progressing, provides project with installation drawings, and updates the Model with as-built information.
  • Applies familiarity of construction techniques, mechanical equipment installation and electrical construction with ability to perform constructability reviews.
  • Works with engineering, equipment suppliers, and subcontractors to develop installation strategies, scope definition, and solve installation challenges.
  • Coordinates information between design team, contractors, suppliers, and client; acts as liaison between contractor, supplier, designers, and engineers to identify and efficiently resolve problems.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports for management describing progress and problems occurring during completion of the project; maintains daily reports; and keeps management informed.
  • Maintains current project records, design drawings and data, shop drawings, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, etc.
  • Acts as point of contact for all Design Coordination.
  • Work is performed on the Project Site.

Qualifications

  • Data Center experience required.
  • BS degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years Electrical Field experience (Master's or Journeyman preferred).
  • Electrical Superintendent for Data Center or Industrial projects experience preferred.
  • Experience with $20-$100M electrical projects preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of 3D modeling systems (will not be modeling/drawing).
  • Proficient in Blue Beam, Procore, CX Alloy, BIM360, MS Project, P6, and other industry standard software.
  • Excellent computer, communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check.
