JOB DESCRIPTION

Configuration Change Management Analyst

Salary Grade: G06
Minimum Midpoint Maximum
$82,463 - $111,325 - $140,187

This position is covered by NERC CIP cyber security standards. Prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check. Prior to being granted unescorted access to cyber secure areas, the candidate must attend cyber security training. Annual cyber security training is also required.

SUMMARY:
Under general direction, this position manages projects and processes associated with configuration change management in corporate, BTS and NERC CIP environments. This includes regulatory compliance assurance with both SOX and NERC CIP for all requirements associated with configuration change management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors and facilitates all configuration change management processes for process alignment with internal controls
Develops, implements, and maintains essential documentation (policies, procedures, templates, and work instructions, audit responses, etc.) for NERC CIP and other regulatory compliance initiatives
Maintains and updates Reliability Standards Audit Worksheets. Monitors procedures and practices across multiple business areas to assure that all regulations and requirements are being met at all times
Assures that software systems used to implement change and configuration management are configured to meet business needs and regulatory compliance
Monitor and validate environment readiness criteria (system availability, interface connectivity, configuration alignment) prior to the execution of interoperability or system integration testing, escalating risks or gaps as needed
Coordinates with QA, development, infrastructure, and vendor teams to ensure test environments are appropriately aligned and available to support planned interoperability and system integration testing activities
Champions the IT change and configuration management process across the Company, and ensures that all departmental procedures align with applicable laws, such as NERC CIP
Develops company and departmental procedures to assure that technology systems are managed according to current industry change and configuration management practices

COMPETENCIES:
Strong knowledge of remote technology management and audit testing response
Extensive knowledge of industry practices in information technology spanning multiple disciplines including: data networking, information security, software/application support, software development, SDLC, quality assurance, project management, and information technology governance.
Ability to translate management objectives into specific actions
Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor,
Ability to design workflows and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with an emphasis on computers and five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
ITIL Release Validation and Control Practitioner Certification is preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to a wide-range of questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
Specialized knowledge in all current company information systems and technologies

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to assess and implement new regulatory initiatives, and translate relevant requirements into process improvements.
Ability to assess procedure artifacts, and determine whether regulatory requirements are being met. Ability to map business processes, and translate into business system requirements.
Ability to find creative solutions to business and technical challenges within restrictive time frames.
Ability to quickly grasp highly technical concepts.
Ability to quickly learn the intricacies of the energy and utilities industry and apply them to applicable strategies and designs.

DECISION MAKING:
Makes decisions regarding establishment and communication of department standards. Makes decisions regarding auditing and enforcing communicated standards and policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office and field environments. Some travel may be required.
