Serve as the principal Technical Expert and Software Architect for the Enterprise Business Tools Branch. In this high-impact role, you will provide elite technical leadership, leverage DevOps and Agile methodologies, and guide developers to build the premier, data-driven software solutions that power decision-making for Air Force executives and senior leaders.
What you will accomplish:
- Drive Enterprise Innovation: Lead the creation of world-class, modern business tools that integrate people, processes, and technology across the entire Air Force software enterprise.
- Lead with Technical Autonomy: Act as the organization's recognized Computer Science expert, guiding and evaluating the design and development activities of other skilled engineers.
- Modern Tech Stack & Methodologies: Champion a continuous-delivery culture utilizing advanced DevOps pipelines and Agile frameworks to rapidly build, test, and deploy high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Project Leadership: Provide expert computer science oversight to ensure program success across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Design & Architecture Guidance: Direct, evaluate, and mentor a talented team of developers, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and highly efficient software architectures.
- Agile & DevOps Pioneering: Utilize modern software development practices to rapidly field tools that help leaders make timely, informed, and data-backed business decisions.
- Strategic Technology Alignment: Ensure the organization adopts and leverages the right software products to streamline operations and support long-term strategic priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain a security clearance
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours
- Designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP)
- Obtain and maintain Cyberspace certification
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of professional computer science, and knowledge of other technical disciplines to effectively apply computer software, software systems and computer hardware architectural theories, principles, and concepts to areas of responsibility.
2. Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
5. Ability to research, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions.
