Associate Computer Scientist (ACDP): Fast-Track Your Career in Mission-Critical Software!
Are you an aspiring computer scientist looking for a high-velocity career path where you can learn from elite experts and work on systems of global importance? The 517th Software Engineering Squadron (517 SWES/MXDPA) is seeking a motivated professional for our Accelerated Compensation for Developmental Position (ACDP) program.
Under the direct mentorship of a Senior Computer Scientist, you will develop the skills to sustain the Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS)-the sole command and control (C2) system used by joint and coalition forces to plan and execute global air campaigns. This role is a direct launchpad designed to fast-track your technical mastery, offering rapid promotion and compensation growth to your target grade of NH-03.
What you will accomplish:
As a developmental specialist on our team, you will receive world-class training while making a real-world impact. You will:
- Fast-Track Your Technical Growth: Complete progressively challenging assignments and training outlined in a formal Development Plan, gaining the specialized skills required to reach your target grade of NH-03.
- Learn from Elite Mentors: Work under the direct guidance of a Senior Computer Scientist, receiving a mix of formal, informal, and hands-on, on-the-job training in advanced defense software engineering.
- Sustain Global Command & Control: Contribute to maintaining the automated C2 and decision-support tools that build the Air Battle Plan (ABP) and disseminate the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Airspace Control Order (ACO).
- Support the Joint Force Worldwide: Directly support the software relied upon daily by Air and Space Operations Centers (AOCs), Navy aircraft carriers and command ships, Marine Corps Air Wings, and North American Air Defense Command (NORAD).
- Master Complex Systems: Develop the adaptability to navigate change and complexity within the Air Force environment, transforming from an associate into a versatile, independent technical expert.
Launch Your Career on the Front Lines of Technology. Why start your career doing routine maintenance when you could be working on the software that commands the skies? The ACDP program offers rapid career advancement, structured mentorship, and a direct path to senior engineering roles, all while supporting the Department of War's vital missions.
If you are a driven computer scientist ready to accelerate your career and make a global impact, I highly encourage you to apply. Join the team that secures the ultimate high ground.
