Computer/Network Specialist (4 positions) Full Time - August/September Start Patuxent River, MD Summary: Serves as a member of the Computer/Network Specialist team supporting a DoD government contract. Performs maintenance, installation and management of local/wide area networks, workstations, personal computer installation and user peripherals. Maintains and installs application software and manages production systems. Responsible for installing LAN interface, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Giga Bit Ethernet interfaces on computer systems and network switches. Collaborates with IT and Software Engineering Team on system administration and configuration. Other Duties: • Maintains computer systems and network switchers • Develops installation project plans • Performs new Hardware research and makes recommendations • Installs, maintain, configures computers to ensure data integrity • Recommends and implements operation system enhances • Performs internet and system administration processes • Research solutions and submits for approval from engineering team and other stakeholders Minimum Requirements: • 4 years' experience in Local/Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN), computer installation and maintenance • 4 years' experience in installation, maintenance of application software • Experience maintaining development and production systems • Demonstrated experience working with LAN, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Giga Bit Ethernet interfaces • Must be able to write, edit, review, and develop installation project plans • Familiar with DoD software research and implementation guidelines • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and protocols • Must be DoD8140 compliant/certified • Must hold a Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCI Preferred skills/quals: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field • Familiar with helpdesk operations and technical support • Familiarity with DoD C5ISR systems and operations • Strong background LAN/WAN and desire to conduct research for improvement Benefits We Have to Offer: • Health, Dental, and Vision • Disability & Life Insurance • 401K Retirement Plan • PTO and Paid Holidays • Tuition Assistance • Competitive salary based on experience and technical qualifications Travel Required: Less than 10%
