General Description

Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Computer / Communication Technician II is a member of the Technical Support Team of the Technology Service Department. The Computer / Communication Technician II is responsible for first and second level problem resolution of the CUHSD desktop-computing environment. This environment includes PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, printers, computer operating systems and applications.

Primary Responsibilities

Technology Support
  • Performs installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of site technology including, but not limited to, computers, phones, printers, Chromebooks, tablets, computer peripherals, software, and AV Equipment.
  • Coordinates repairs of district technology with outside vendors.
  • Installs and configures software applications for both PC and Macintosh computers.
  • Assists in the maintenance, upgrades, and security of the District's various networks including Local Area Networks (LAN), wireless networks and access points.
  • Resolve technology support request using the district web help desk in order while ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Coordinates software vendor technical support to resolve to ongoing support issues.
  • Provides clear verbal and written communication.

Technology Coordination
  • Maintains inventory and documentation of all site technology.
  • Helps maintains the technology service center as a neat and orderly environment.

Performs all related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license.
  • Two (2) years of PC support experience in a moderate to large enterprise environment, including local and wide area networks.
  • Strong Knowledge in both wired and wireless network technologies.
  • Proficiency in Google Platforms, including Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Productivity tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of computers, printers and related PC / MAC equipment.
  • Experience with PC based operating systems Windows, Mac and PC Applications.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and be able to work in stressful and often changing environment.
  • Must be willing and interested in working in a team environment. Some duties may be required outside the normal workday.

Working Conditions/Contacts

Daily contacts with staff members and administrators. Work is performed primarily inside on one
of seven campuses or the District Office; occasional lifting up to 40 pounds; constant exposure to
moderate noise intensity level; occasional exposure to weather to and from classes
