Job Description:As the Component Exchange Specialist you will be assembling and disassembling engines and powertrains.
- Engines: oil pans, water manifolds, fuel rails, filter bases, regulator housings, oil coolers, after coolers, and front and rear housing, etc as required
- Powertrain: final drives, torque convertors, brake groups and transmissions including pump, hose/tube removal from the housings, etc as required
- Disassembly and reassembly support to specialty welding scopes as required
- Other duties of specialists and component disassembly technicians as needed, including precision measuring, parts salvage process, etc.
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with internal and external customers
- Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
Qualifications:- Journeyperson Ticket considered an asset
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Previous repair and troubleshooting experience with Caterpillar general line products would be considered an asset
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
- Previous engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset
Important Details:- This position is based out of Kamloops, on a 7x7 Continuous Shift
- A condition of employment may be to be fit tested and wear a respirator
