Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA is $127,448 - $151,776 per year and this role may be eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Execute (individually or as member of an engineering team) customized production orders under minimum supervision, utilizing industry standards and best engineering practices. Provide drafting support to engineers on submittals, and as-built drawings, including design of new components, modification of mechanical drawings, and incorporate field or customer-based changes. Process high quality engineering changes using SAP in an accurate and expedient manner to minimize impacts to production and the overall project. Collaborate with interfacing systems engineers, designers, design leads, and Engineering Project Managers. Work with internal purchasing partners to achieve target costing for designs. Communicate with vendors to ensure appropriate product selection for the intended use. Assure proper execution of the design, compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Create complex parts, assemblies and bills of material. Execute customized production orders while, utilizing industry standards and best engineering practices. Provide drafting support to engineers on submittals, and as-built drawings, including design of new components, modification of mechanical drawings, and incorporate field or customer-based changes. Telecommuting is permissible from a commutable distance from the office. [Hybrid role.]

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or in a Component Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

3 years of experience with Rolling Stock.

Creating and presenting designs for internal and external design reviews.

Working with design sheet metal and welded Steel Structures.

Experience with sheet metal part design.

Creating bill of materials.

Working in Mechanical and Electrical integration.

Releasing parts using Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN, ECO).

Working in a manufacturing environment and interfacing with factory workers.

SAP Experience (ECN, ECO, and ECR process).

Experience with PTC Windchill.

Working with schematics and harness diagrams.
