Full Job Description
As a Component Engineer specializing in Electro-Mechanical Devices, you will be responsible for varius parts such as Fuses, Circuit Breakers, Contactors, Shunts, Relays, Switches, Cable and Wire Harness, Connectors, and all Metal Parts (Hardware, Bus Bars, Shunts, Cabinets, Diecasting) supporting design of power supply products for datacenter, industrial and telecommunication applications. You will also be responsible for driving technology in emerging technology in support of 800Vdc battery backup systems. Responsibilities include: Solid State Circuit Breakers, e-Fuses, Battery Technology and Liquid Cooling fluids and systems. You will own the components from concept, test, qualification and release to mass production through to end of component life. The projects will include New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology Introduction (NTI), Direct Material Productivity (DMP), resolving customer issues, and sustaining existing products. Reporting to the R&D Technical Manager, this position will be expected to demonstrate leadership globally. This role is located at our Plano, TX HQ. Your responsibilities include: - Lead DC System component roadmap and technology in support of AI Datacenter Markets. - Collaborate with R&D Design team to support product roadmaps and align supplier technologies in support of Product development - Work with suppliers to understand technology, quality, reliability, price, lead time and production processes. - Develop Supplier Technology Matrix understanding processes that are critical to quality as well as capacity limitations and outsourced processes. - Consult safety engineer to ensure all safety devices are compliant to Global safety standards - Provide support to qualification team before launching mass production Basic Requirements: - B.S. in Mechanical Engineering / Physics / Industrial Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college - Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience, with focus on power electronics applications Desired Requirements: - Solid knowledge of EMD devices and Safety Requirements - Strong knowledge of Connection Technology PCB to PCB as well as Cable and Wire Harness assemblies - Working Knowledge of Thermal Compounds, Thermal Interface Materials, Metal Platings & Plating Chemistry, Coatings, Bus Bars, Pins, - e-Fuse, Solid state Breakers, Liquid Cooling Technologies (Liquid Cool Bus Bars, Immersion Cooling Systems, Fluids) - Highly preferred to have actual Project development experience using the above components - M.S in Mechanical, Physics, Industrial Engineering preferred - Knowledge of UL and CE electrical safety requirements for - Solid understanding of thermal, mechanical and packaging techniques - Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills - Ability to drive projects to completion
