JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Regulatory Strategy Officer within the Governance and Business Management team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the team. You will be overseeing several important functions including business management, and the Regulatory Engagement Manager governance. You will have close interactions with the exam team leads, the team admins and the onsite examiner team. To be successful in this role, you will need to think strategically about optimizing the management of the function, possess exceptional communication skills, be capable of working in a fast paced environment, and driving initiatives to conclusion. Additionally, you will be responsible for cultivating expertise in the firm's regulatory agenda and acquire a comprehensive understanding of governance at a firm-wide level.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support traditional business management responsibilities for the broader team including but not limited to driving strategic planning and execution, budgeting and forecasting, headcount management, expense management, business reviews, crisis and business resiliency, and real estate planning.

  • Coordinate communications related to team and broader Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) related business management priorities to the team. 

  • Support control environment responsibilities, including oversight of the team’s controls, and quarterback any related testing by control management and audit 

  • Support culture initiatives by organizing impactful trainings, townhalls, offsites, etc.

  • Support regulatory engagement management governance which includes oversight to the 4 standards/procedures owned by Regulatory Strategy

  • Support exam operations as needed

  • Manage agendas for governance meetings 

  • Manage delivery and execution of several important regulator deliverables, including Resolution Planning/Appendix 21, coordination of crisis management notifications to US primary regulators; coordinate the planning and execution of the bi-annual College of Supervisors meetings; and managing submission of certain information to regulators.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Must be excellent at preparing visually appealing and effective emails, meeting and townhall materials

  • Experience in strategic planning and headcount/budget management

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint etc.), and SharePoint, SharePoint, including managing document libraries, permissions/access controls, versioning, metadata/tagging, and basic workflow automation (e.g., approvals).

  • Ability to build, document and execute and re-engineer processes and proactively leverage innovation such as AI in the role 

  • Capable of working across the firm with senior internal stakeholders, and regulator stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

  • Ability to multitask and manage tight delivery timelines in a dynamic environment.

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work well under pressure with a strong sense of accountability.
