About the RoleThisComplianceAdviserrolewill be basedinKitimat and reporting to the Environmental Compliance Lead. The rolerequires you toassistin ensuring that ourProjectoperationsat LNG Canadafollowsall applicableenvironmental laws and regulations in BC.You will alsoprovide guidance on environmental issues, conduct audits, and support our sustainability initiativesto preserve the environment.
The Compliance Advisor provides day to day support to LNG Canada environment and construction teams to ensure that compliance is integrated into construction planning and execution, to undertake assurance activities, and to address compliance events asrequired.
TheCompliance Advisor acts as the compliance focal for construction execution, supporting readiness reviews, technical queries and assurance processes for all LNG Canada Phase 1 construction works.
You will also coordinate withEPCContractorsand internal LNG Canada project&Asset teams for Commissioning, Start-up& Operations for Phase2.

You will use your expertise to: - Liaise closely with the Execute team to ensure allpermitting, compliance and environmental aspects are in place forexecutephase.
- Liaise with the execute phase Regulatory Compliance team to develop theProjectcompliance management system.
- Lead the development of and support approval process forProjectenvironmental management plans, procedures, and work method statements.
- Provide day-to-day compliance support to the LNG Canada construction and functional teams related to compliance requirements and interpretation of commitments and mitigations
- Liaise with subject matter experts, LegalCounseland various LNG Canada functional teams to achieve compliance for the Project
- Coordinate updates and consultation related to project management plans as defined in permits,approvalsand authorizations
- Manage compliance events related to construction execution, including but not limited to regulatory inspections, informationrequestsand audits
- Provide advice on environmental regulations, including air and water quality, waste management, and contaminated sites
- Conduct audits and assessments toidentifycompliance issues and recommend corrective actionswhilstensuringcompliance with environmental laws and company policies
- Support sustainability initiatives andidentifyopportunities for improvement
- Maintain recordsand support the preparation of reports and documentationrequiredfor regulatory/environmentalcompliance.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders on environmental issues
- Support implementation ofwaste management plans, including waste minimization, treatment, and disposal.
- Assistin the implementation and monitoring of environmental compliance programs and policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Help coordinate training sessions for employees on environmental compliance and best practices.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization
- Technical review of permit applications and implementation of environmental conditions and commitments upon receipt.
- Work closely with external relations team to provide technical support
To be successful, you will have: - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in environmental compliance management
- Strong knowledge of BC environmental regulations
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, including the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and BC Environmental Management Act
Candidates with the followingQualificationswill bepreferred:
- Experience inOil & Gas industryor consulting
- Certification in environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001)
This role requires that you: - Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
- Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace). For applicants located outside of the region, this role will result in temporarily relocating to Kitimat, in which accommodations will be provided by LNG Canada as per our policy, accompanied or unaccompanied status. - Are willing to comply with LNGC's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
- This role is expected to end approximately 5-Year subject to a positive Phase 2 Project Final Investment Decision, which is expected by end of 2026.
- You will be required to work on a regular 5/2 rotation, however, please know that this role may be expected to be on call on a rotational basis during the year and/or during site specific situations.
- This is not a contractor role, it is a fixed term with benefits.
- This is not a fly-in and fly-out role.
